PRE ORDER - PEAR BEURRE BOSC - Bare Rooted
Beurre Bosc Pear (Pyrus communis) is a classic heirloom pear variety first recorded in Europe in the early 1800s. Known worldwide for its russetted, cinnamon-brown skin and elongated conical fruit, this medium-sized deciduous tree is perfect for eating fresh, preserving, cooking, or drying.
The tree produces fragrant white flowers in spring, followed by mid- to late-autumn fruit. The yellowish-white flesh is juicy, slightly coarse, and buttery, with a subtle grainy texture. The full sweet, rich flavour develops after 3â4 weeks of refrigeration, making Beurre Bosc an excellent dessert pear with impressive storage qualities.
This pear tree is a regular and heavy cropper, with a medium-sized, upright pyramidal habit, growing approximately 4âŻm high by 3âŻm wide. It prefers full sun but tolerates partial sun and thrives in light, fertile, well-drained soil, though it can handle heavier clay soils. Pollination: Best with Nijisseiki, Williams, or Sensation varieties.
Supplied as a bare-rooted plant.Â
